Greetings from Whistler,

It  has been a typical early fall weather week, some sunny days, some rain and overall  a cooling in temperature, and the beautiful fall colors.  The real estate market has not cooled down at all in Whistler.  The government announcement of the 15% Foreign Buyers Transfer Tax  has increased the inventory in Vancouver but it has not had an  impact on Whistler.  The tax is not mandated in Whistler, Squamish or Pemberton so it has no effect on our market directly. The market slowing down in Vancouver is typical of this time of the year, it will be interesting to see how the next couple of months go.

If you are looking to make a move please do not hesitate to give us a call to discuss your needs.  We are always happy to talk about what is the best timing for your benefit.  You can see from this week’s listings and sales that the market has not slowed down here, 15 new listings and 26 sales.  We have 217 listings in Whistler now, in Sept. 2010, we had 817 listings. The average number of listings would be about 550 in an average market.  I have never seen a market like this in the 24 years of selling real estate in Whistler.  If you  want to buy a house, condo or townhouse in Whistler, let us help you.  Tracey and I are working very hard to help buyers find the right place to buy.  If you want to sell your property here or Pemberton, it has never been a better market than this one. We are here for you!
