Greetings from Whistler,

Get your umbrellas out, the rain has started.  This is the season that we just have to put our heads down and get the inside jobs done so we are ready to ski by Nov. 23rd.  The weather has been so nice this fall, most of us have not wanted to do those inside jobs.

Local happenings to remind you of are to be sure to grab your tickets for Cornocopia 2017, there are lots of different events to choose from or if you are looking for a delicious dinner out Rimrock Cafe has their fall special happening now, definitely one of our favorites!

The real estate market in Whistler and Pemberton has slowed down in the last couple of weeks.  As you see from our links to the listings and sales, there are only 12 new listings and 13 sales in Whistler, approx. half the sales that we usually see.  This is historically a time of the year that it can be really busy with the buyers trying to get a “cabin” for the winter, but this year it is showing signs of slowing, partly to do with the low inventory and partly to do with the rising prices.
The banks are tightening up their belts, making it harder for buyers to get mortgages, especially on some resort properties. Let us know if you are looking for a mortgage, we suggest emailing one of our local Mortgage Brokers, Annie de la Cheverotiere to get the ball rolling. Her email is annie@peaktopeakmc.com. Annie is the owner of Peak to Peak Mortgage Company and is extremely knowledgeable and efficient, she always gets the job done.
