BC Day long weekend was busy as expected. We actually were out on the Duffey Lake road on Monday and it was incredible how many people were there waiting to hike up Joffre! Lines and lines of parked cars and people wanting to enjoy a stellar day in the mountains. We were lucky enough to be able to pop out for 1.5 days to our cabin on Bridge Lake for a little fun on the water and no smoke from the surrounding fires. This weekend is the kickoff for one of Whistler’s ultimate events – Crankworx Whistler August 10-19th. Every day of the festival is packed with events, races and demonstrations, many of them free to watch. All three of Tracey’s boys will be competing this year, it is going to be exciting!
The Whistler market snapshot below is showing 18 new listings and 22 sales. It is worth noting that 13 of the 22 sales were in 2017, they are just registering now for some of the estate lots at Wedgewoods, approx 12 mins north of Whistler Village. We seem to be entering into a historical market trend, despite the drop in sales activity prices are still holding up with a 7% increase from a year ago at this time. Pemberton is showing consistency with 1 new listing, 1 sale and 1 price change. Activity in Pemberton is down approximately 15% for the total number of sales, Pemberton tends to be a bit slower during the summer months.
