Greetings from Whistler,

The Whistler Fire Department is stepping up with an Early-Detection System for wildfires. By the third week of  June, they will have two cameras, one mounted on the top of Whistler Mountain and one mounted by the transfer station at the entrance to Callaghan.  They will cover about 70 % of the Whistler Valley in terms of early detection of smoke. The Municipality of Whistler and the Whistler Fire Department are working together with Strata Companies to make your properties Fire Smart, check this out online.  Keep Whistler Safe from wildfires.  The Farmers Market is open again happening on Sundays in the Upper Village. Fresh local produce from the Sea to Sky Corridor, food and refreshing beverages, local art, live entertainment and more. A great family day out in the Upper Village shops, restaurants, patios and of course Blackcomb Adventure Zone to explore. This weekend also marks the Whistler 1/2 marathon and a multitude of other distance events. Pemberton is also hostings the inaugural Pemberton Spud Crusher which is a women’s only enduro event – Tracey will be participating… Running or riding, good luck and be sure to have some fun!

The real estate market is interesting!  Although we have told you we are a little slower right now, it is quite amazing to hear of several multiple offers in the last few days.  A number of the 20 new listings already have offers on them and then some of the properties that have been on the market for over 2 months, are now under offer.  It feels quieter because listings are staying on the market longer and there is not such an urgency for buyers to “rush up” here to write an offer.  There are more listings coming on giving buyers more time!  The fact that there are 19 price reductions is good for the buyers, not feeling the upward pressure.  The Sellers are still in good shape, most properties have increased dramatically over the past 2 years.  This is a great time for both buyers and sellers no matter how you look at it.  If you would like a Market Evaluation of your home for today’s market, please give us a call or an email.  We always look forward to hearing from you.
