Greetings from Whistler and Pemberton,

We can tell ski season is just about here when we see people skating on the frozen lakes around Pemberton and Whistler! It’s sure chilly, and it looks like more snow is coming to the mountains next week!

We have a recap of last month’s activity in the Whistler and Pemberton markets for you:

October saw a slight rebound in Whistler from a slow September, but still ranked as the 15th lowest month in terms of sales volume in the last 10 years. In Whistler, there were 39 sales, which was a 26% increase over September sales volumes. October also saw the highest overall median sales price of the last 10 years. Inventory remains in line with levels seen throughout Q3. Overall days on market for properties sold in October sits just below the 5-year average of 33 at 30.

There were 5 sales in Pemberton in the month of October, which is just below average Q3 sales activity. The continued lower sales numbers in Pemberton may be a function of both interest rates increases and buyers feeling the effects of inflation, which doesn’t seem to be going down without a fight. Inventory levels (61 units) and median days on market (36) also remained in line with what we saw in Q3.
