Happy New Year everyone! We are surfacing from a 2 week staycation in Whistler. The Christmas and New Year’s holidays brought us some very memorable times. We enjoyed some great skiing , skating on the Olympic Plaza ice oval and an old fashioned skate party on my son’s pond on his 10 acre farm in Pemberton. What a great experience for the kids, roasting wieners and marshmallows on a bonfire in the snow. Christmas in our family is magical.
The Real Estate market was very quiet over the holiday season as usual. There were only 7 sales in the past 2 weeks in Whistler and 1 in Pemberton. The resort was full to the brim, all the rooms were booked with families from all over the world having a fantastic holiday. Let’s face it, who wants to look at real estate when you could be out there having fun on the mountains. We generally see the market slow for the next couple of weeks and expect it to pick up close to the 3rd week of January. We are holding a record low in inventory @ 370 listings compared with an average 650 listings in past years.
