Greetings from Whistler and Pemberton,

Today we finally heard good news from Premier John Horgan and Dr. Bonnie Henry.  They have outlined B.C’s Four-Step Plan to resume activities, visits, and travel across the province as the Circuit Breaker ends and the Province looks at how we can safely get back to normal.  There are a number of restrictions being lifted, they said we can have a BBQ with friends at our homes now with a few people, restaurants are able to have indoor dining with limited people.  We can visit friends and family in our own regions but are asking everyone to stay local until June 15th.  They say look at data, not dates as they need to make sure the numbers keep going down before they let us travel farther.  Have a look at the information on the Circuit Breaker News Report.  All going well, we will see people being able to come to Whistler again possibly by mid-June.  We would love to have you back and look forward to the days our village is bustling again!

The real estate market continues to have the velocity of one of the hottest markets we have experienced.  We are seeing some buyer fatigue as they are tired of being in multiple offers as the prices continue to accelerate above the list price.  If you are a seller, your best setup for success is to have your property in showroom condition. We have some incredible staging companies here and they are working very hard! You should be prepared to have your homes staged as this is the #1 strategy in making your home look it’s best.  The market has increased 10% to 20% in some sectors in the last 8 months. Will this market last forever, we do not know?  We continue to lack inventory, interest rates are still very low and demand remains high. If only we could predict the future. If you are thinking of selling, there has never been a better time.  We would be happy to discuss your personal real estate needs, we can give you a market evaluation and talk to you about timing, is this the right time for you to sell?  If you have been thinking about it then most likely it is, and we can help you.  If you are a Buyer looking for the perfect place in Whistler or Pemberton let’s regroup, visit your priorities and what may work for you.  The market is seeing multiple offers on almost every new listing so let’s make sure you are educated and prepared on how to make your best move. Email us or call anytime, we are here for you.

Whistler groups grateful for
Fee For Service funding

Council approves one-year spend for five local organizations!

After seeing municipal funding reduced last year due to COVID-19, Whistler organizations are grateful to see the spending come back in 2021.

At its May 18 meeting, Whistler council approved Fee For Service (FFS) funding for five local groups: Arts Whistler ($500,000); the Whistler Off-Road Cycling Association ($200,000); the Whistler Museum and Archives Society ($150,000); the Whistler Chamber of Commerce ($120,000); and Whistler Animals Galore ($101,071).

The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) provides FFS funding to organizations providing services that, if those organizations didn’t exist, would fall to the municipality.

The money comes from property taxes, municipal and regional district taxes, and the Resort Municipality Initiative.
